Portraiture is my favorite type of photography. There's some marvellous about trying to get to the essence of another human being and capture that essence on film (or digital form). I'm extremely grateful to all the individuals who have agreed to serve as subjects throughout the years.
My attempts at self-portraiture grew out of my desire to have a visually interesting profile photo for my facebook, flickr, and blog sites. I would typically get bored with my profile pics rather quickly and try to create new ones that were ever more bizarre. I like to think that each of these self-portraits reflects various dimensions of my persona, animus, and, of course, my ever-present shadow.

15 people; a photo that captures the essence of each; 1 statement of personal philosophy. Here are the results.
